WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE FOR CHRISTMAS?
"What would you like for Christmas?" they ask.
If I could choose the gift I want most of all,
You couldn't wrap it in festive paper and ribbons.
You could wrap it around every other gift, however simple,
And give that gift immeasurable value,
For love is the greatest gift of all.
It cannot be bought,
It will not be confined,
It struggles to free itself,
So that it can be given and received again and again.
God's gift of Jesus at Christmas is the best gift ever given.
It is ours to share with others.
It is ours to receive from others.
If we give and receive only love this Christmas,
Perhaps our selfishness will be left behind.
Perhaps our greed will be overcome.
Perhaps peace will come to our world
