EACH CHILD WE BRING TO GOD
Each child we bring to God for blessing,
Each one we baptise in our Saviour’s name,
Is equal to us in the sight of God.
Sometimes we look at children as if they are not really there,
Only waiting for them to be gone, or grown up, so the real worship can begin.
Life for them is now, not merely some time in the future.
Every minute of their time with us is precious, to be used,
Not in frantic activity, but in the absorption of awe and wonder,
Our caring love and the spirituality of our worship.
The smallest child can pray and be heard, join in worship,
And be blessed by God in the fellowship of our Church.
Children often speak truths we would overlook.
Give thanks for their freshness, their insight and honesty,
Their unconscious spontaneity and their sensitivity to our needs.
Let us pray for sensitivity Lord,
To know their needs and to serve them,
To value their individual personalities,
To pray for them and to accept their ministry to us,
To spend time getting to know each one,
To share the Gospel with them by the example of our lives.
Teach us to value each person just as they are and to join with them on their spiritual journey.
