Dover Sunrise Service 2007.
EASTER SUNRISE
The mist was thick in the valley.
As we climbed the hill, it was as if we moved from darkness into light.
Aeroplanes made trails through the sky, illuminated by the rising sun, and others, filled with light, rose up like pilgrims basking in God’s love.
We looked over our town, still lying in mist, and thought of those yet unaware of the glory of the risen Christ.
Whilst we sang and prayed, the sun itself appeared and rose in majesty above the earth, as our Lord himself longs to do.
A mountain-top moment – a call to serve and proclaim the message of Easter –
‘The Lord is risen – He is risen indeed’.
Hallelujah!
