TOSSED ABOUT ON THE STORM SEA
Tossed about on the stormy sea
A little boat rocked to and fro,
Backwards and forwards in the waves,
Riding the storm and the winds that blow.
Why does this boat stay afloat?
Where is its stability?
How does it survive the pounding of the sea
And ride upon the waves in such serenity?
The keel is at its heart, it keeps
The little craft from sinking in the storm.
Its strength comes from this alone
From there the whole boat takes its form.
If the heart is true to God and man
No waves can overturn us,
In this strength we’ll ride the storms
Knowing He’ll watch over us.
