MARY THE MOTHER
What joy did Mary feel at the coming of her Son?
She sang a song of thanks for what she would become,
What at His birth God's will was done.
She nurtured Him and watched Him grow through childhood's days.
What fears did Mary have, did she know all the ways
He would serve the human race?
Did she lie awake at night picturing His face?
Could she understand His lifestyle? Did she feel disgrace
At His lack of resting place?
Did she try to stop Him going to Jerusalem?
Had she knowledge in advance of what they'd do to Him?
Did she understand God's purpose then?
What pain did Mary feel at the passing of her Son?
She wept, as any mother would, at what He had become
When at His death God's will was done.
And at His resurrection did happiness overflow?
Did Mary just accept God's will or did she want to know
Why her Son should suffer so?“
